B14 bus between Bexleyheath and Orpington named most unreliable

The B14 has been named the bus route with most delays in Tfl figures.

The route operates just every 30 minutes from Bexleyheath and Orpington, and the lack of buses is being blamed alongside low frequencies reducing resilience.

Buses terminate at Bexleyheath

It runs through Sidcup and St Mary Cray on its journey.

The B14 only departs on time 69 per cent of the time which is now the worst rate in Bexley, and very poor for Bromley.

Do you use it? Is it that bad?

Route B14 Bexleyheath Shopping Centre to Orpington Station via Queen Mary,s Hospital is in a urgent need of a frequency increase from every 30 minutes (2 buses an hour) to every 20 minutes (3 buses an hour) or every 15 minutes (4 buses an hour) to make the route more frequent and reliable over the whole route. More frequent routes also see more patronage as passengers/residents are more willing to wait for the bus. The evening service also needs to be increased from every 60 minutes to at least every 30 minutes at all times.

Any delays on the route at the current frequency of every 30 minutes can see the bus delayed up to 15 to 20 minutes making the gap between buses up to 45 to 50 minutes we need to see this route looked at urgently by TFL and a frequency increased introduced as soon as possible.
