A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead at a house in Bickley.
Police stormed the house on Stoneleigh Road and arrested a 36 year old man. He has since been charged and named as Barry Levitt. The victim was Celia Levitt.
The man was arrested shortly after 1am on Friday, August 31st. Police were called to the house after reports were made regarding a man’s welfare.
The woman was aged in her 60s.
The murder is the 102nd in London, compared to 116 last year. Many have pinned the blame on London Mayor Sadiq Khan, yet 75% of police funding comes from central Government where cuts have been severe.
Just over in Kent, which has a Conservative council and Police and Crime Commissioner, knife crime has doubled in the past five years. Cuts in Kent have also been severe.
